Our business has developed a long way from its beginnings as a simple steel plate stockholder. We have progressively added to our range of services to the point that we can now deliver finished parts ready for assembly. We have, for instance, utilised our in-house processing facilities and worked with specialist sub-contractors to provide a complete tank farm ready for on-site erection.
Stockholding
Champak Steel & Engg. Co. holds large stocks of steel plates in locations around the world enabling us to supply a full range of quality assured steels at very short notice. Intelligent market monitoring ensures that sufficient stock of particular steels in various markets is available at all times.
Steel Direct from Manufacturers
We are able to offer fast track deliveries and access larger than normal allocations of steel plates due to our strong relationships with most of the major European steel mills. In this way we can assist our customers with projects requiring large quantities of steel and bespoke sizes.
We offer technical advice and support to assist you to meet the most demanding of client specifications and our liaison with mill production and progress departments ensures that you are kept up to date with the status of your orders.
Project Management
 Our project management team led by a graduate project manager has been involved in projects in the India. Champak Steel & Engg. Co. approach provides a single point of contact to our customers guaranteeing them a “hands on” management strategy throughout all stages of their project right from the initial formulation of a project plan through to the final hand over of the complete project documentation pack.
Logistics
 With more than 100 years experience of moving steel and equipment around the India and across the world we are able to offer our customers assistance and support in getting their steel to the right place at the right time. We have delivered small cut pieces weighing a few kilograms by courier, steel plates weighing several tonnes by air, and two thousand tonne shipments to the other side of the world. In short, whether it be by road, sea, or air, whether it is a domestic or international shipment, or whether it is small or large, we have almost certainly done something similar already and can help you by doing it again.
Plate Cutting
Whatever your requirement for processed plate our range of plate cutting equipment ensures we can offer exactly what you require.
 The following list summarises our facilities:
- High Definition plasma up to 100mm thick
- Oxy Gas up to 400mm thick
- Laser up to 25mm thick
- Water Jet up to 150mm thick.
We can handle plate up to 35 tonnes in weight, 4.5m wide and 20m in length.
We can take your drawings via our DXF links, cut the parts, and deliver to any location throughout the world.
Plate Processing
 Working with our team of quality assured subcontractors we can provide you with parts ready for final assembly. One order and a single point of contact at Champak Steel & Engg. Co. take the problem from your desk and provide you with a complete supply chain. A summary of the services we offer are as below:
- Weld preparations, shaped and straight, single and double, up to 110mm thick
- Grinding - plate size up to 2 metres x 2 metres
- Drilling and tapping - plates up to 20 metres long
- Pressing up to 12 metres in length
- Machining - fully CNC machined parts with up to 1 tonne piece weight
- Shotblasting & painting - plate sizes up to 18 metres x 3 metres
